At Elä Life, working in harmony with the natural world is at the heart of everything we do. The very essence of our products is derived from earth’s precious resources, meaning we are acutely aware of our responsibility to preserve and protect our planet and are on a continuous journey to minimise the impact our business has on the environment.
With society waking up to the consequences that our small, everyday decisions can have on the world around us, it is more important than ever to champion sustainability in all facets of our lives, including our homes and our daily routines – right down to the finishing touches. It is this very commitment that runs through our daily business practices and into our products.
We only use biodegradable packaging for our deliveries and, wherever possible all product packaging is recycled or recyclable. We create products with their full life-span in mind, making it possible for them to be used for many years and in many different ways. We actively encourage our customers to thoughtfully dispose of bottles and packaging or reuse them; our candle jars and lids can be repurposed for storage around the home and our bottles are perfect for refilling with other products.
We also carefully consider the suppliers we work with and our choice of materials, where possible sourcing local ingredients that are local to Surrey. We make our candles by hand in small batches using a beautiful, plant-based combination of coconut, rapeseed oil and 100% essential oils.
The benefit of making all our products in small batches enables us to minimise waste and limit our environmental impact. This thoughtful artisan based production style keeps us environmentally conscious and helps us maintain a slower, steady pace as a business. This is not only good for the environment but also our mental wellbeing.
